Top WordPress blogs

The chances are that if you’re reading this post, you are interested in reading about WordPress. And that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about today; our favourite places to read and learn more about WordPress.

There are innumerable blogs covering all kinds of WordPress related topics on the internet. But we want to keep our list concise and high quality, so the seven in this list are the ones we really pay the most attention to.

We missed the ProteusThemes blog off the list, but you’re already here, so you know that this one is obviously worth keeping an eye on too. 😉

WordPress.org

NEWWPORG

The WordPress.org blog is where you can get all the latest news directly from the WordPress HQ. Although it is somewhat dry on the entertainment side, the straight-from-the-source posts about WordPress’ latest updates and releases are essential reading for anybody with more than a passing interest in WordPress.

WP Tavern

NewWPTAV

WP Tavern is probably the most popular WordPress blog out there, and rightly so. They offer a load of interesting, entertaining and well-written content related to just about every aspect of WordPress that you can think of. Their WP Weekly Podcast is also definitely worth a listen too.

Envato

Envato blog

Ok, Envato’s isn’t strictly a WordPress blog. But they are such big players in the ecosystem that we would be remiss not to include them. Aside from some WordPress topics, their posts cover everything from UX, tech trends, freelancing, and general productivity and inspiration. Its variation is its greatest virtue.

ThemeGrill

ThemeGrill-Blog

ThemeGrill Blog predominantly focuses on every niche imaginable on the WordPress platform. They offer a generous serving of high-quality articles that include tips and in-depth tutorials, theme and plugin collections, WP reviews, editorials and trends.  In fact, they are always up for creating a wonderland of resourceful contents for the WordPress aficionados!

Chris Lema

What Chris Lema doesn’t know about WordPress probably isn’t worth knowing. He is incredibly business savvy too. So if you run an online business, this is definitely the blog for you. Chris is truly an expert blogger. His writing is concise, informative and very easy to digest.

WP Mayor

MAyor blog

WP Mayor is another great all-rounder. They have a lot of actionable content for tweaking pretty much every aspect of your WordPress site. Their up-to-date jobs board is a very nice feature, and they also have a deals section where you can find some decent discounts on hosting, themes and plugins.

WPLeague

New WPLEA

WPLeague is actually a little side project of ours. We are the new kids on the block in terms of creating a stand-alone, dedicated WordPress blog. So come and take a look. We will be writing in-depth reviews of themes, plugins and a whole load of other WordPress related services.

FirstSiteGuide.com

firstsiteguide

FirstSiteGuide.com is one of the fastest growing online source with free guides and tutorials that are created mainly for web beginners. When it comes to WordPress, you can find a lot of helpful insights there – like guides, articles, video tutorials and more resources that can come in handy to everyone who is new on the web and look how to start a WordPress powered blog or website on their own.

Torque

Torque Blog

And last but not least, Torque. These guys run a great magazine-style site with something for everyone. They have some simple, helpful articles for absolute beginners. But they also really go the technical distance in their ‘developers’ section. Be warned, you will most likely spend a long time scrolling through their great ‘plugins’ section.

About the Author
I'm relatively new to the WordPress ecosystem, but I have always been an avid writer. It feels amazing to do something I love and learn so much at the same time. Outside of work I'm usually reading novels, watching documentaries or feeling disappointed with Newcastle United.
